Ragnarok X Next Generation, also known as Hyper Return, rings in the Lunar New Year with its latest event for February. This celebration brings back the Nian event alongside a host of festivities, including Odin burning, double EXP, and exclusive costumes tailored for the occasion.
This guide aims to navigate you through the diverse events of the Celebrate New Spring Event, ensuring you maximize your rewards and miss out on nothing.
Costumes, Cards, Mount and Boxes
This year’s event features two limited edition costume sets, appealing to adventurers of all genders. The sets include:

The Celebrate New Spring Event
February’s festivities are divided into seven distinct events, each offering unique rewards. A new dashboard interface allows players to easily track the events, their schedules, and the potential rewards, streamlining the participation process.
Event 1: Spring Festival Sign-in (Daily Login)
Kickstart the celebration by simply logging in daily to claim your rewards. A highlight is the exclusive “Math Dance” action, a nod to the Year of the Dragon.

Event 2: Nian Siege
This event challenges players to defeat Baby Nian or Phantom Nian monsters scattered across a designated map. Unlike previous iterations, finding these creatures is now straightforward, making participation more accessible. Accumulating points from defeating these monsters leads to rewards such as the Imperial Seal at 1000 points, despite some rewards being less appealing.
Here are the points you’ll get once you defeated these event monsters:
- Baby Nian – 10 Points
- Phanom Nian – 200 Points
The challenge with the Nian Siege event lies in the rewards’ appeal, with the most notable reward being the Imperial Seal at 1000 points. The inclusion of lesser valued items such as Gacha Coin Selection Packs and Convex Mirrors, alongside the high placement of Mission Orders as a top reward, raises questions about the reward strategy. While the Imperial Seal stands out as a valuable prize, the motivation behind the distribution of other rewards may not really appeal with all players.

To participate in this event, just go to Nian Siege > then click the “Tap to Enter”, this will give you the map location for the monster. In the screenshot, it says (eg. Hoomage Jungle, Real of the Dead)
There is also the Round’s Elimination Progress, a server level progress that will give all adventurer rewards when reaching certain progress:

Event 3: Nian Invasion
Starting February 10, 2024, Nian will be spawning on Payon map where you have a chance to beat this MVP again and able to get the exclusive mount and other rewards that is needed for event materials.
To fight Nian better, you need these items to deal damage to the Nian:
- Firework
- Golden Dragon Claw
Event 4: New Year’s Thanks
Starting February 10, 2024, players can type to the world chat “Happy Lunar New Year 2024!” to activate this especial quest. From here, players can level up their tier gift box by completing different daily and cumulative quests.
Event 5: Spring Rewards (Odin Burn)

The event also returns its Odin burning event, wherein adventurer needs to eliminate monster to get event-exclusive item drops like the Shiny Dragon Scale and Sky Companion Badge. The catch is, getting it is a little harder, and based on the event’s details – it says:

Double EXP/Zeny
There is also the double EXP and Zeny event where you can double the EXP and Zeny you’ll get once you AFK to monsters, you can participate this daily by the following schedule:

Special Mission
Once you have completed all of the Mission Board quest, you can unlock the Special Mission where completing this additional quest allows you to obtain Shiny Dragon Scale, Golden Dragon Claw and many more.

Odin Blessings
Event 6: Spring Furniture
The next one, is spending real money or trying your luck by spending your Crystal for your home furniture. Although these decorative items do not offer direct benefits or enhancements to your character’s abilities or stats, they play a significant role in personalizing and beautifying your in-game living space. This feature caters to players who take pride in customizing their virtual environments, providing a unique way to celebrate the Lunar New Year within the game.
