Filipino-made games continue to show how local culture, childhood memories, and regional stories can become meaningful interactive experiences. In these student-developed projects, familiar Filipino roots are reimagined through deck-building battles, myth-inspired action, and emotional puzzle-solving.

Tambakan Taktiks turns a beloved barangay game into a deck-building roguelite where players follow Sansan, a young kid trying to build his confidence. The game mixes turn-based card combat, mech battles, dice-based actions, and roguelite progression, creating a strategy experience built around both chance and careful decision-making.

Takipsilim takes inspiration from Bicolano mythology, particularly the moon goddess Haliya. Set in a world trapped in eternal twilight, the 3D isometric action RPG follows Silim, Haliya’s newly chosen champion, as she battles monsters and demons to restore balance to a fallen world. Players can explore different zones, complete quests, level up attributes, unlock skills, and collect equipment from defeated enemies.

Corazon offers a more emotional journey through a 2D top-down language-based puzzle game. It follows eight-year-old Corazon as she enters a spirit realm in search of her late mother. Through Bicol vocabulary puzzles and memory-based progression, the game explores grief, love, and the way memories help people carry those they have lost.

Together, these games highlight how Filipino student developers are using local stories not just as background details, but as the heart of their gameplay. From barangay games to Bicolano mythology and language, each project shows how familiar roots can become fresh, meaningful playable experiences.
The games were created by Filipino student developers under the guidance of adviser Edlaine Ann S. Mercado, MCGA. Tambakan Taktiks was developed by Aubrey Marie C. Montecino, Clarize C.
