Ragnarok: Battle of the Novice Hearts, a Classic RO Online Ported for Mobile

Written by

Good news, Ragnarok fans! The beloved classic MMORPG, Ragnarok Online, is making its way to mobile devices with the upcoming release of “Ragnarok: Battle of the Novice Hearts.” This mobile iteration aims to capture the original spirit and lore of RO, offering a faithful adaptation that fans can enjoy anytime, anywhere from their mobile phones. However, there is currently no English version of the game, and there is no news regarding a potential release in the SEA region or globally. Fortunately, Closed Beta Testing has just kicked off in Taiwan, and it is available for both iOS and Android users.

“Ragnarok: Battle of the Novice Hearts” is like a perfect port of the classic Ragnarok Online, tailored for mobile devices with intuitive controls, an engaging interface, and features suitable for smartphones and tablets. This ensures that fans can relive their favorite moments and explore new adventures seamlessly on their devices in this generation.

The game will include over 500 RO-inspired fashion styles, allowing players to express their individuality and pay homage to the iconic art style of the Ragnarok series. Additionally, the developers have brought back all the beloved MVP monsters from the PC version, adding a touch of nostalgia and providing players with the opportunity to collect rare MVP parts to craft powerful gear.

Just like in the rest of the Ragnarok games, there will be Guild Wars, where guilds battle it out to conquer the guild fortress and claim the emperium. The big question on everyone’s mind is whether the game will include gacha and pay-to-win (P2W) features like other Ragnarok mobile games. Unfortunately, we still don’t have the answer as the game is still in its CBT phase in Taiwan and hasn’t been released in other regions yet.

Closed Beta Testing in Taiwan

Recently, the game’s developers announced an extension of the Closed Beta Testing (CBT) in Taiwan until May 7, offering iOS and Android users a chance to provide feedback and help refine the game. This testing phase demonstrates the developers’ commitment to delivering a polished and engaging experience for players worldwide.

For those eager to try the Taiwan version, you can check out their official website for any upcoming CBT at https://event.gnjoy.com.tw/RoBA/ACT_RoBA.

Chinese Version

There is also a Chinese server version of the game that looks very similar to Battle of Novice Hearts. It is titled “Ragnarok: New Journey.” You can see the gameplay below.
