Harry Potter: Magic Awakened mobile set to release in Asia this Year

NetEase Games and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today their upcoming game Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, a card mobile game for iOS and Android devices, as well as on PC platforms. Though there is no exact date, the game is set to release this year in Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea.

Mixed with a strategy roleplay element (RPG), the Harry Potter: Magic Awakened features a collectible card game that is based on the original series of Harry Potter. Players will be able to study magic, learn strategies and new spells that can be cased using a newly acquired card like the defensive charm Expecto Patronum.

The game will be set to some years after the second wizarding war, players will begin their journey as a young witches and wizards who was just received their first acceptance letter from the Hogwarts School of Witcraft and Wizardry. As the player progress, it unveil the story based from the original Harry Potter series, including the boarding the Hogwart’s Express, participating in the Sorting Ceremonty, to playing the Quidditch. All of these will be in the game just like you re-watched the whole movie franchise.

Players will also be able to interact with major protagonist like Harry, Ron, Hermione and other characters in the game to learn new magic and meet other friends. As player embarks their journey in the Hogwarts, player can recruit powerful allies to expand their arsenal of magic and create unique strategies among players. It will also features a PvP (Player vs Player) mode where player can dual fight in an arena.
