If you bought a non-steam/standalone version of Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V), either from the official store Rockstar Games or the disk version of the game. You probably having a problem updating your game, suddenly an update of 898.80 MB in size keep re-downloading the same update all over again, that stuck you forever. Causing the game not to open or even play.

Since the standalone version GTA V has no verify integrity which will fixed this common problem similar in Steam. It will be a little hard on fixing this issue by yourself.

There are ways to fixed this problem. First is by using the -verify and -noChunkedDownload option tag to force the launcher to download the patch all at once instead of in chunks. The second is fixing your PC ports.

How to Fix using Verify and No Chucked Download

  1. Open the command prompt. Or type CMD on Cortana.
  2. Type the directory of the game. If you’re using the default directory type cd c:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V
  3. Then, type GTAVLauncher.exe -verify -noChunkedDownload
  4. It will download the update and should fixed your problem.

If the workaround won’t fix the problem, check your PC ports if its open. Make sure the TCP Ports (80, 443) are open and UDP Ports (667, 61455, 61457, 61456 and 61458) as well.

‘GTAVLauncher.exe’ is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file. What now?
