SIM Card Expiration Smart, Globe, Sun Cellular, Talk n’ Text and TM

Written by

How long does it take for your SIM Card to get expire or deactivate for inactivity or unused in the Philippines? Your SIM Card will only starts to expires when your SIM account balance reaches ZERO or no load and you are given additional 120 days or 4 months to reload your account to remain active. If you didn’t reach the 120 days deadline, your SIM card will automatically expires and lead to disconnection of your prepaid account. All Telecoms in the Philippines like SMART (Sun Cellular, Talk n’ Text / TNT) and GLOBE (Touch Mobile / TM) are using the same method on sim card validity.

I have not been able to renew my SIM card. My pleas have fallen upon deaf ears no matter where I turned. I got a new SIM card and new number. I had to go to my bank (stand in line for 2 hours) and to everybody else that uses my old number and change it to a new number. Surely it’s a problem that takes all day to correct, but the cell phone companies don’t care, not even a little bit. It’s a way to keep a small stream of income coming and they do it just because they can. So I make sure to buy the smallest load possible once every 2 months to keep my number active.
