Nearly 70% of websites with known server-side programming languages use PHP, the technology behind popular platforms like WordPress. On October 21, 2026, two critical security vulnerabilities were disclosed that could allow hackers to remotely access or take control of affected servers.

The PHP development team has released emergency security patches for versions 8.2 through 8.5, urging website owners, developers, and hosting providers to update immediately to prevent potential attacks.
GamingPH was also among the websites affected by these security flaws. Fortunately, we’ve already applied the necessary security patches to address the vulnerabilities and help keep our website and readers protected.
For fellow IT workers and web developers, now is the time to check your website’s PHP version and ensure the latest security updates are installed.
