NetEase Games, in collaboration with 24 Entertainment 临安 Studio, has officially unveiled Blood Message, a cinematic single-player action-adventure powered by Unreal Engine 5. The game marks NetEase’s first foray into the AAA single-player space, signaling an evolution in the company’s development focus.
Set in the twilight years of the Tang Dynasty, Blood Message follows a nameless messenger and his young son on a perilous journey across a crumbling empire. Tasked with delivering a message that could change the fate of their war-torn homeland, the duo must traverse treacherous terrain, survive brutal battles, and confront the heavy cost of loyalty, duty, and family.
A Deeply Personal Story in a Historical Setting
In stark contrast to the grand narratives of emperors and generals, Blood Message centers on the stories of ordinary people. Players will journey through 3,000 li (roughly 1,000 miles) of deserts, forests, and besieged cities in an emotionally charged quest rooted in cultural identity and survival.
