Songkran Gala Guide in Ragnarok X Next Generation (ROX Guide)

Get ready to celebrate Songkran, Thailand’s national New Year’s holiday, in Ragnarok X Next Generation (ROX) with the return of the annual Songkran Gala event. Similar to the previous 2022 Songkran edition, this year 2023′ event will feature the mini-game and activities such as the Water Gun Battle and the burning of Odin Blessing.

The 14-day Songkran Gala kicks off on April 11, 2023, and will conclude on April 24, 2023 (We already deducted 1-day because server refreshed is at 5AM on the following day), with an extended exchange period until April 28, 2023.

In this article, we present a comprehensive guide to help you navigate the various components of the event, ensuring a rewarding and enjoyable experience and what to expect in the event.

Island Tour Quest (Daily and Cumulative Quest)

Embark on a thrilling Island Tour Quest, a progressive daily and cumulative event that requires players to collect Fuel (Gasoline) to advance their travel progress to unlock new attractions and rewards. The final attraction, Sentosa, requires 2,000 Fuel to access and offers limited item rewards such as the Summer Cannon backpack.

The fuel can be obtained by participating in the daily and cumulative quest, here are the list of quest in the event and the rewards that you can obtain:

UPDATE as of 04/12/2023: It so happen that the “Happy Songkran Festival” world chat greeting quest is a daily quest – not sure if this chat event is only up to the end of Songkran Festival in Thailand which will start on April 13 and end on April 15 or for the whole in-game duration, but if ever whole in-game duration, this means you will get an additional of 260 Gasoline by the end of the event. This also means, you do not need to do a top up for you to get the Summer Cannon Backpack.

But if thus the World chat greeting quest end on April 15, you will only get a total of 1,920 Gasoline in which you still need to top up.

To obtain the Summer Cannon Backpack, players must accumulate a total of 2,000 Gasoline. While 1,820 Gasoline can be earned through free-to-play quests, players need to top-up an additional 5,000 Diamonds (equivalent to PHP 559) to reach the required amount of Gasoline.

Water Gun Battle (Mini-Game)

Join the Water Gun Battle mini-game to earn Base and Job EXP rewards and Clear Water event materials. The mechanics remain the same as the previous event. Players can only claim rewards once per day, so repeated battles only benefit guildmates who need help completing tasks.

In this 3v3 water gun battle, players equip Water Cannons to drench opponents and deplete their health. Once soaked, opponents cannot move for several seconds, and their bubbles must be burst for elimination. If a teammate becomes soaked, rescue them by tapping the rescue icon.

Boosters are available on both sides of the camp and at the center. Use these to gain an advantage against the enemy. Be aware of a known bug where enemies cannot be identified.

King of Revelry (Ranking)

The King of Revelry is a ranking system rewarding players who accumulate the most Clear Water event materials. Players with large amounts of Clear Water, such as 1,400, have likely topped up with Diamonds.

Vacation Shop (Event Material Exchange)

Exchange collected event materials from daily/cumulative quests, Water Gun Battle, and Burning Odin Blessing at the Vacation Shop for various items.

You’ll get a total of 840 Seafood Onigiri, 700 Clear Water, and 168 Tropical Salads from daily and cumulative quests, plus more event materials on the Odin Burning. Basically, the hardest material from this event is the Tropical Salad, 168 Tropical Salad is not enough to get the event costume for 350 Tropical Salad, and you must burn Odin Blessing to get a total of 182 Tropical Salad.

When it comes to progress materials, players need to accumulate a total of 1,350 Seafood Onigiri to obtain all of the essential items. If you’re planning to collect more Tropical Salad on Odin burning, you’ll likely reach this amount of Seafood Onigiri, as it has a higher drop rate compared to Tropical Salad.

Strouf’s Blessing (Burning Odin Blessing) with 400 Odin Daily

In line with previous events in Ragnarok X Next Generation, adventurers can participate in Strouf’s Blessing by burning their Odin Blessing during the Songkran Gala. By doing so, players can eliminate monsters and have a chance to obtain event materials for reward exchanges.

Throughout the event, players will receive 400 Odin Blessings daily for 14 days, which can be utilized to burn Odin Blessings and increase their chances of acquiring valuable event materials. The likelihood of obtaining these materials is proportional to the monster sizes and Odin Blessing used, ensuring that players have equal opportunities to obtain rewards regardless of the monster sizes.

Here are the chances for each event materials based on monster sizes. Make sure to only do Odin burning with a Solo party, as this will prevent any reduction in drop rates.

We can confirm this is the correct rate chances based on our in-game test, we have burned 4,000 Odin Blessings on Crab (Small) and we we’re able to loot 14 Tropical Salad, 43 Seafood Onigiri and 6 Mystic Water.

For those who are curious about the methodology behind our findings, we conducted a series of synthetic tests (not in-game tests) to determine the average drop rates for each event material using the provided rate numbers. We performed 1,000 synthetic tests to simulate one thousand adventurers looting from the same-sized monsters using 4,000 Odin Blessings each. The detailed breakdown of our testing process is as follows:

• Average Loot: Represents the mean value of event materials obtained by all 1,000 adventurers in the simulated test.
• Minimum Loot: Refers to the lowest quantity of event materials acquired by the least fortunate adventurer.
• Maximum Loot: Refers to the highest amount of event materials secured by the luckiest adventurer.
