The Lunar New Year event finally come to Ragnarok X Next Generation and this time, Nian is back once again to brings new challenge for our adventurer together with new event like the Eclipse mini-game and many more. This is a 14-day event in which it will end on February 1, 2023, refresh time at 5AM.
The event is composed of 5 types of events, 2 of which are quests, 1 MVP hunt and a world chat greeting. In this guide, we’ll walk you through all the daily tasks you need to complete in order to get most of the event items.

Event 1: Odin Burn Event Material Drop (Capped)
By defeating the monsters in the wild while turning on the Odin Blessing, you’ll be able to receive the event material like Eclipse’s Carrot and Forest Companion.
Ragnarok X Next Generation already fixed the bug on the monster size drop chances rewards. So, for now the recommended monster to burn your Odin Blessing is on small mobs. Just make sure you are in solo party and has no other adventurer getting your kills. However, there is now a limit or a capped on burning Odin Blessing, you can get up to 4 x Forest Companion and 1 x Eclipse’s Carrot per day.
Together with this, Nian Babies will also randomly appear on every map. Eliminating those Nian Babies will allow you to get a bound New Year Gift Box.
Event 2: Mission Board Special Quest
First, clear out the 10 mission board quests you have to unlock the special quest where you’ll need to hunt one specific MVP/Mini. Once you have cleared it, the Special quest will appear on the Mission Board.
As for the records, here are the list of MVP’s and Mini’s you’ll be facing off:
- Day 1: Maya
- Day 2: Phreeoni
- Day 3: Mistress
- Day 4: Chimera
- Day 5: Eclipse
- Day 6: Vagabond Wolf
- Day 7: Dragon Fly
- Day 8: Clear any Instance (3 Times) – Surprisingly, Eclipse Mini game is also counted.
- Day 9: Baby Nian
- Day 10: Talk to Eclipse (Requires 10 Forest Companion Badge)
- Day 11: Clear any Instance (3 Times)
- Day 12: Hand Over 30 Fishing Mats (Payon)
You’ll a guarantee to get the following item once you’ve completed the daily special quest:
- New Year Gift Box
- Eclipse’s Down Fur
- Eclipse’s Carrot
- 5 x Odin’s Resplendent Reliquary (100 Odin each)
Event 3: Defeat MVP Nian
This is a special MVP hunting event that will happen on Payon Channel 1 where Nian will be appearing on this map every hour. You need to defeat or at least hit MVP Nian to participate in the event and get a hit rewards of Guard Certificate. As of writing, it will be difficult to defeat it if adventurers have no buff “ Eclipse Carrot” to break Nian’s armor.
When Nian appears on Payon, it will disappear and teleport three times in three different locations, making adventurers run faster in order to catch up with it (Depending on how many whales you have in your server). If you’re too slow and far from Nian, you won’t be able to get the rewards when it died.

Most of the time, Nian’s last location will be either in Spawn 2 or Spawn 1. If you think Nian’s HP are still half and it is in Spawn 3, as much as possible do not go there, it’s too far. Instead, wait for him to respawn on Spawn 1 or Spawn 2 and make a hit.
Event 4: Eclipse Mini Game
In the Eclipse Mini Game, you will run to reach the finish line while avoiding obstacles and monsters. To win, you must avoid the wolf monsters and reach the finish line before time runs out or being dead. You will also encounter a Carrot buff where you’ll have a boost in speed for 5 seconds, you can use this to outrun the wolf and proceed to the next path.
The tip for completing this game is make sure not to be hit by wolf by staying out of wolf’s sight on the first 4 obstacle (Note: He will try to chase you if he sees you in front of him). Then when you encounter a big wolf, just hide on the edge of its red ring. As for the last obstacle, there will be 2 wolfs interchanging position, just run and allow the wolf to hit you, they will die automatically once you are hit and able to complete the mini game.
- Proceed to the last obstacle by avoiding wolf – staying out of wolf’s sight and using the carrot buff to outrun them. (Hide on path pocket if needed)
- If Big Wolf, hide on the edge of the red ring.
- The last obstacle with two wolves, just allow wolves to hit you and reached the finish line.

Event 5: World Chat Greetings
Starting January 21, 2023, you’ll be able to get a reward by just greeting everyone in the world chat. All you need to do is enter the text “Happy Lunar New Year 2023!” in the world chat and you’ll automatically receive the rewards in the mail in-game.
You’ll be able to receive a New Year’s Eve Pack which contains the previous year event item and new ones like mount decoration. The highlight reward here is the 6-speed mount Treasure Tiger.
Here are the items you’ll be able to receive, guaranteed to get Crystals and one costume accessories. Plus, a chance to get Treasure or Mount decoration.

The last is exchanging the event materials you received from the event. The Badge store, which can be found on the Payon from NPC Eclipse. You need Eclipse’s Down Fur and Guard Certificate to get the item you want from the store.
