gamescom asia is back for its second year, continuing it’s hybrid event with larger physical Trade Zone and Conference for industry professionals. And for the first time, general public can also join its Physical Entertainment zone to experience trade exhibition and demo games in-person. There is also an online segments will be available for people who cannot make it. The event is expected to attract 15,000 total visitors and 100 exhibitors from Asia Pacific and other region.
After general public attendee forced to go virtual last year due to the pandemic and only B2B held physically, gamescom asia are finally restarting their physical format for everyone. “We are very excited to bring back a festival atmosphere, of course within safe and calculated measures as we are not yet out of the pandemic.” said Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director at Koelnmesse Singapore. “But overall, the enthusiasm has been evident amongst the community and industry.”
The physical event, Entertainment Zone will have various activities like live shows, meet & greets with content creators, consumer exhibitions and a live demo for upcoming video games (Hoping to see local publisher from the Philippines to showcased their games in the event). A cosplay contest is also being planned but is still subject to local guidelines.
