You’re recording on your favorite game and spent a lot of hours to save those moments. Suddenly, when you take off the SD memory card out of your Elgato 4K60 S+ and excited to play the output video to your computer. Unfortunately, the output video shows a problem with very high contrast all throughout the recording.
You think it was the SD memory card has the problem, you’ve changed it several times and even adjusted the settings for recording. The problem also appear when you tried recording the gameplay on Elgato’s 4K Capture Utility software and the output was the same.
Yes! That’s how we troubleshoot the problem and thought, our precious capture card was has hardware problem and needs to return.
Problem with HDMI Cable
Fortunately, we nailed the problem and its just the HDMI. We don’t know exactly the reason why the HDMI cable is giving those effect, maybe it is a low quality cable or something or it is not durable enough for the recording we’ve done in the past few days.
So, after changing another HDMI cable, the High contrast problem on the video was totally gone and all good.
We think, we need to share this because some of you might having problem with your Elgato 4K60 S+ and we’ve tried searching the internet for solution, but we don’t find any. Hope this helps you with your problem.
