If you are a video game streamer or a content creator who plans to take your career path in this direction, there are many platforms you can choose from. Twitch, Youtube Gaming, and the Facebook Gaming app are three of the most popular, with each having its own kind of monetization system.
One common monetization is the use of stars, Facebook’s virtual good. This allows viewers the opportunity to support their favorite streamers for their work.
When it comes to geography, unlike Twitch that is more for international viewers. Facebook Gaming on the other hand targeted audiences depending on user’s country, primarily that speaks to their native language – this is important to local streamers because they can speak to people who understand their language and culture. Most new-born local streamers in the country (Philippines) started their carrier on Facebook Gaming.
As the streamers earn more and more stars from their fans, it can then be converted to cash for them to cash out their earnings. Each Stars are worth $0.01. So, for every 10,000 Stars, streamers will get $100 or PHP 5,500 or MYR 418. Below are some basic calculation chart.

How to be Eligible for Stars?
To be eligible for receiving a star as a video streamer on Facebook. You need to achieve the following metrics:
- Has a Gaming Video Creator Facebook Page (Category)
- Stream Video gaming content for at least four hours in the last 14 days.
- Stream Video gaming content on at least two days in the last 14 days.
- Have at least 100 Page followers
- Stream from the eligible country.
- Meet Community Standards and Partner Monetization Policies
Once you have those matrices, you can now stream on Facebook and receive stars from your fans.
Payout for Stars
All stars will be computed at the end of the month and when you reach at least 10,000 stars or 100 USD, you’ll receive your payout after 30 days. If you’re from Vietnam, it takes 60 days go get the payout.
Payment can be made using PayPal, Bank Transfer or a Cheque depending on the country you currently reside.
