YouTuber PewDiePie Calls Filipinos, Philippinian

On the latest videos of YouTuber PewDiePie, he takes a look at the analytics of his YouTube channel, and it turns out that, Philippines is the second most popular country to search for the keyword PewDiePie in Google. This is according to the reports in Google Trends.

PewDiePie walked through the past and checked the places where his channel has trended and where it didn’t. After analyzing the data, he was surprised to learn that the Philippines is actually the second top country who search his YouTube channel, and he thanks the Filipinos, calling them his “Philippinian Bros” or other spell it “Philippinean Bros”. He says “Philippines is my second biggest country! Philippinian Bros, Thank you!”.

The comment thread was then flooded with posts from the Filipino people. Nicco Miel Yusay says “From now on Filipinos will be called as “Philippineans”. Another netizen also commented. “My nationality changed without me knowing. I am a philippinean now.” says Misha Seguros.

For those who haven’t heard of or know PewDiePie, he is the 2nd YouTube channel with the most number of subscribers, next to T-Series. As of this writing, his subscribers has reached 96 million. He became popular because of his funny videos of walkthrough for video games. He was also in hot water in the past over use of racial slur and his subscribers competition with T-Series.
