Are you also experiencing black screen problem with your latest MacBook Pro with Touch Bar? The problem happens when your laptop goes to sleep, and when you’re to turn in it on, it becomes unresponsive. The keyboard is not working, track-pad has no clicking feedback, the touch bar and the screen monitor has no sign of power. This kinds of symptoms seems what we call a Black Screen of Death.

Here’s the thing – the MacBook Pro is actually powered on because you can hear some little noise in the fan area and hot surface in the exhaust area. Since the keyboard and touch bar is not working, there is no way for the laptop to completely shutdown – even doing the solution found on the Internet. Reset the SMC, NVRAM/PRAM, Safe Boot, Reset and etc.. it doesn’t fix the problem.

In our case, our MacBook was fully charged 100%, draining out the batter to see if it will turn off after a power cycle will take days to do it.

It turns out that we are not alone in this situation, we see some folks having similar problems with their MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar in the apple forum and other MacBook forum sites.

So what is the problem and how do you fix it?

The thing is, the problem is actually its MacBook Pro’s Logic board, and it seems there is a hardware issue inside the board that triggers it to happen. The only way to fix it is by replacing the defective parts, yes, replacement. If you’re still under a 1-year warranty of Apple, you can go to the nearest Apple Care Service Center and set up an appointment for a repair. They’ll replace it for you for FREE if still in the warranty period.

If you’re already out of covered by the Warranty, the only way is to purchase the defective logic board which cost almost 70% the price of a brand new MacBook Pro.

Based on the reported issue on forums. This problem happens in the 2016, 2017 and 2018 version of Macbook Pro both 13 inch and 15 inch.
