Resident Evil Movie Gets a FREE Fan-Made Video Game, Bringing the Film to Life with PS1-Style Graphics

Written by

The latest Resident Evil movie has received an unexpected video game adaptation, thanks to indie developer Stefano Cagnani, who recreated parts of Zach Cregger’s 2026 film as a playable survival horror experience inspired by the original PlayStation era.

Titled Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil: The Videogame, the unofficial fan-made project follows Bryan Hodukavich, the film’s protagonist, as he travels toward Raccoon City. Players can experience the movie’s opening sequence, including driving through snowy roads and encountering danger inside a barn.

The game features nostalgic PS1-style visuals, classic survival horror gameplay, and an atmosphere reminiscent of the original Resident Evil titles. However, it is a short experience rather than a complete adaptation, with approximately 10 minutes of gameplay.

Released on October 29, 2026, the fan-made game is available for Windows through itch.io on a name-your-own-price basis, allowing players to download it for free or voluntarily support the developer.
