Filipino Actor Jokes About Taking a Showbiz Break to Play GTA 6

Written by

Filipino actor Paulo Avelino has jokingly announced that he will be stepping away from movies, teleseryes, endorsements, and other commitments beginning October 31, just weeks before the release of Grand Theft Auto VI.

In a social media post in X (https://x.com/mepauloavelino/status/2093152258523586900), Avelino said GTA 6, which launches on November 19, is one of the reasons behind his planned break. He also mentioned Path of Exile 2 reaching version 1.0 in December and joked that he would be available again by March 2027, after reaching 100% completion in GTA 6. His exaggerated remarks, including telling his legal counsel to have anyone planning to sue him wait until then, make it clear that the announcement was made in a humorous and sarcastic tone.

The gaming references are not entirely out of character for Avelino, who is known to be an avid gamer and has spent time playing MMORPGs such as Ragnarok. He has also played with several friends in the gaming community, including Banoobs, whom GamingPH has previously covered.

While the post appears to be more of a playful announcement than a serious departure from showbiz, it also shows just how much an avid gamer even a popular artist is looking forward to GTA 6 ahead of its November release.

How about you? Would you also take a leave when GTA 6 comes out, and what reason would you give?
