Sony Lifts Region Lock on 4 PC Titles After Stellar Blade Change

Written by

After Stellar Blade was made available in non-PSN regions through a direct request from its developers to Sony, the company has now quietly lifted region locks for four more PC titles on Steam. The change allows players in countries like the Philippines, previously locked out due to PlayStation Network limitations can now access and purchase these games without workarounds.

While Sony hasn’t released an official statement, evidence from SteamDB confirms that the following titles have had their region restrictions removed:

This update means players in non-PSN regions no longer need to rely on VPNs or Steam gifting just to access these popular Sony titles.

However, Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut remains region-locked, likely due to its integration with PSN for the Legends multiplayer mode. It seems Sony is still cautious about unlocking titles that rely heavily on PlayStation Network services. That said, with Helldivers 2 already available in non-PSN regions despite its own PSN features, there’s hope that Ghost of Tsushima could follow in the future.

Still, it’s a welcome move for players who’ve been waiting for fair access, especially in Southeast Asia and other unsupported regions. With more Sony titles making their way to PC, the removal of region locks may be the first sign of bigger changes ahead.
