ASUS Unveils The ROG Phone, a Specs Dedicated for Gaming

In Computex 2018, ASUS unveils its ROG Phone, one of the first phone for their gaming brand Republic of Gamers. ROG is known for the best gaming hardware, either in PC, laptops and peripherals. This newest addition will ultimately complete the line up. As a gaming-oriented phone, it is the second phone in the market that has a 90Hz display that offers you immersive gaming, suitable for playing latest mobile games or streaming via phone.

It’s not just a gaming phone. It is also a high-end smartphone that packs with the world’s fastest Speed-binned 2.9GHz Snapdragon 845, 8GB of RAM, 128GB or 512 of storage, and a 4,000mAh battery. If you compare this with other phones, this is the second phone that offered 8GB of RAM for base, an option for 512GB of storage and faster variant of Snapdragon.

With the Speed-binned, it gives you options to max out the performance of your device, by switching to X Mode. This is by squeezing the side of the phone. Once you switch to X Mode, it turns the phone display from dark blue to dark red for cosmetics purpose. It also optimizes the phone by running at a higher frequency which will run games or application way smoother. It will also shut down background processes and prioritize the application that is currently running. X Mode also controls the AeroActive Cooler, an additional accessories for the device.

RGB is Life, yep and it happens in this mobile device! The ROG Phone has a RGB light logo embedded on the back side of the device near the fingerprint scanner, it lights every-time the phone is active. Other accessories also has the RGB features and it may be sync with ROG’s Aura.

Accessories for the ROG Phone is one of the most prominent features of this device; this is the first phone that acts like a console handled device. It has a docking station where you can seat the device and charge, connect it to a monitor for extra display, ports for RJ45 to connect to the internet without wifi, and usb connection for keyboard/mouse.

The Clamshell accessory is a gamepad with a secondary screen that will make the phone into a dual-screen device. It will also expand the battery capacity with additional 6,000mAh battery.

The price for ROG Phone and its accessories isn’t yet revealed. But the phone will be expectedly available in the third quarter of 2018.
