Some PayPal Users cannot Withdraw Funds to PayMaya Visa Prepaid Card

Some users are experiencing a problem with PayPal. The withdrawal of funds through instant transfer to any Prepaid Debit Visa card or Mastercard is restricted for some reason. As of the moment, we don’t know if it is a glitch or a new implementation for all PayPal users. What we know are all users who got the new interface for withdrawal are experiencing this problem.

UPDATE as of 03/10/2020 @07:59 PM: It seems PayPal patched the old transfer link and now redirecting to the new URL. Currently, there are no workaround for the affected Paypal and PayMaya users. Thanks to Genest Jan Ramirez for notifying us.

We’ve tried using this old link and surprisingly, all of the PayMaya cards showed up again on the withdrawal list. Big Thanks to Marie G for sharing this solution! Below a sample screenshot of our successful transfer from PayPal to PayMaya!

UPDATE as of 11/8 @ 9:45 PM: Paymaya reached out to us and they will further investigate the issue. We will update this post once we got feedback.

The instant transfer is one of the most convenient ways of transferring money from PayPal because of its realtime process. Most freelancers and gamers alike are using this type of transfer to get their funds from PayPal.

PayMaya, a fin-tech company and one of the popular online payment app in the Philippines are affected by this issue. Since PayMaya is using Prepaid VISA Card, withdrawing to PayMaya is not possible for some users for both instant transfer and standard transfer.

When you try to transfer money from your PayPal Balance, the prepaid card is no longer available in Instant Transfer.

When adding the PayMaya Prepaid card in the Instant Transfer, it will give you an error that says “Your Visa Prepaid Card ******** isn’t eligible for Instant Transfer”.

We are hoping that the PayMaya team will solve this issue as soon as possible. GCash payment gateway is also encountering a similar problem a week ago and it seems it is now affecting every debit prepaid cards.

As of the moment, the UnionBank of the Philippines EON Visa card is not affected by this issue. If you have EON, you can still transfer money using both the Instant Transfer and Standard Transfer.
