The first time I run Beyond Good and Evil on my PC from uPlay it runs extremely lag and unplayable even using high-end GPUs. The culprit of this issue is that some pre-defined settings on the game doesn’t recognize latest GPU or using old GPU settings since this game is quite decade already. In order to fixed the lag problem, you have to enable everything and max out the game settings. You can follow my instruction below.
How to Fixed Extreme Lag in Beyond Good and Evil
- Open Game Settings
- Go to Advance Settings Tab
- Then on the right side Compatibility, Check the Manual Compatibility settings and check everything (Triple-buffering, SSE, HW Vertex Processing, Multi Vertex Stream, Mipmapping, W Buffer, Fastflip and Autogen mipmap)
- (Optional) Set the Performance vs Quality settings to Water Detail is High, Antialiasing is On, Flare is On and Shadows Quality is On
- (Optional) Configure your Resolution, I set mine to my native monitor resolution 1920 x 1080.
