Fans of classic real-time strategy (RTS) games like Red Alert 2 and Command & Conquer: Generals might want to keep an eye on Defilade, an upcoming military RTS developed by RBGames that combines old-school base-building, modern warfare, intelligent soldiers, and impressive environmental destruction.

What makes Defilade particularly interesting is how its soldiers behave during combat. Instead of standing in the open waiting for orders, units can automatically seek cover behind walls, vehicles, and other objects. They can also lean around corners to engage enemies, dive away from grenades, and react to incoming fire.
Soldiers can even rescue wounded teammates during combat. When someone gets injured, nearby units may provide covering fire while another soldier drags their fallen comrade to safety. These small details aim to make battles feel more dynamic and realistic.
Classic RTS Gameplay With Modern Mechanics
Defilade also features traditional RTS mechanics such as building bases, managing resources, deploying tanks and helicopters, and protecting supply lines.
Aside from that, it features fully destructible environments, allowing vehicles and explosions to damage structures and reshape the battlefield. Players can construct defensive positions, dig trenches, and establish forward operating bases to support their troops.
According to its developer, Defilade draws inspiration from classic RTS titles, particularly Red Alert and Sudden Strike, while introducing more detailed battlefield interactions.
Defilade is currently listed as coming soon on Steam, with no confirmed release date. Players interested in the game can add it to their wishlist.
