Konami is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Castlevania by making the original game available for free on mobile.
The classic gothic action game that started the long-running series can now be downloaded on both Android and iOS. The mobile release is a direct port of the original title, complete with touchscreen controls and offline play.
Originally released in Japan in 1986 before arriving internationally on the Nintendo Entertainment System, Castlevania introduced players to Simon Belmont and his journey through Dracula’s castle. The series has since grown to more than 30 games over the past four decades.
The anniversary promotion runs until October 24, 2026 at 11:59 PM JST. Players who download the game during the availability period will still be able to download and play it afterward, so you may want to add it to your library while it’s available.
