Mega Man X Regenesis, an unofficial game created by fans, created by Justin Ross, is now available as a free download. Inspired by the classic SNES era, the game presents an original adventure featuring familiar characters and retro pixel art.
The story follows an alternate timeline where Sigma has won, X has fallen and humanity is close to extinction. With hope running out, Dr. Cain activates Project Regenesis, giving X another chance to rewrite history and save humanity.
Players can battle eight original Maverick bosses, master new Special Weapons, discover armor upgrades and search for hidden collectibles. The game also includes achievements, full controller support and more than 25 original music tracks.
Mega Man X Regenesis is available for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android, with support for Steam Deck. You can download it for free through the official itch.io page https://mmxregenesis.itch.io/mega-man-x-regenesis.
