Victor Wembanyama has been revealed as the Standard Edition cover athlete for NBA 2K27 following the San Antonio Spurs’ heartbreaking run in the 2026 NBA Finals.
The decision frustrated some basketball fans who expected Jalen Brunson or another member of the champion New York Knicks to receive the spotlight. Wembanyama joins Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, who headlines the Deluxe Edition, and Chicago Bulls legend Derrick Rose, featured on the limited-time Ultra Edition.
NBA 2K27 launches worldwide on September 4, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. Deluxe and Ultra Edition owners will receive early access beginning August 28.
