Infinity Ward has officially revealed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, the next major entry in the long-running first-person shooter series, and this time the conflict is centered on a rapidly escalating war in the Korean Peninsula.

The campaign puts players in the boots of Private Park, a young South Korean soldier thrown into live combat as North Korea launches a full-scale invasion. As the war spreads across the region, players will experience trench warfare in Korea and large-scale battles that show the conflict’s growing impact.
Beyond the front lines, the story also follows Captain Price, now operating outside the system he once served. Working from the shadows, Price is chasing a dangerous weapon that could push the world into a much larger catastrophe. Ghost is also involved in the covert side of the conflict, giving the campaign both battlefield chaos and shadow-war tension.
Modern Warfare 4’s campaign will not stay in one location. Infinity Ward is promising a globe-trotting set of missions, including close-quarters combat in New York, high-speed car chases through Paris, SAS night raids in Mumbai, and heavy combat across Korea and other occupied areas.
Multiplayer is also getting a major update, with Infinity Ward describing the experience as grounded and precise, while still giving players more control through fluid movement. One of the biggest new additions is Ballistic Authority, a weapons-first system designed to make gunplay feel more authentic and responsive.
At launch, Modern Warfare 4 will include 12 Core multiplayer maps set across different locations around the world. The game will also introduce Kill Block, a dynamic battleground that can reconfigure its layout between rounds, with more than 500 possible configurations.
Another major reveal is the return of DMZ, Call of Duty’s extraction-style mode. The mode will drop solo players and squads into a shifting combat zone where each deployment can play out differently. More details about DMZ are expected to be revealed on June 7, 2026.
For PC players, Modern Warfare 4 is being built with a renewed focus on performance, visual fidelity, responsiveness, and customization. Infinity Ward is working with Beenox to give PC players more options to fine-tune the experience based on their setup.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, 2026 for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. You can watch the full trailer below.
