The Prince of Ibalong, a Filipino-made game inspired by Bicolano folklore

The Prince of Ibalong gives Bicolano folklore its own game.

Developed by studioEEPY, a team of five students from Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology in Naga City, The Prince of Ibalong is a Filipino-made capstone project inspired by the Bicolano epic Ibalong. The game follows the story of Handyong and Oryol, bringing players into a myth-filled world shaped by folklore-inspired battles, story choices, and Philippine mythology.

According to the developers, the project was created over six months as part of their school capstone, with the team building the game in Unity Engine and creating all assets from scratch. The result is a narrative-driven adventure game that puts Bicolano culture and local legends at the center, giving players a rare chance to experience Philippine folklore through an interactive game.
