Sepak U, a Filipino-made brawler game, brings Sepak Takraw into 1-4 player mayhem

Sepak U is shaping up to be one of the more interesting upcoming Filipino-made games on Steam. Developed and published by Good Knight Collective, the title is currently listed for a planned 2027 release, making this an early look at a homegrown project that already has a strong identity.

At its core, Sepak U turns Sepak Takraw into a wild sports-fighting brawler that blends volleyball, football, and fighting game mechanics into 1 to 4-player matches. The Steam page describes local and online play, easy-to-learn controls, and deeper movement options like air dashes, wave dashes, and cancels, giving it both party game energy and competitive fighting game flavor.

What makes the game stand out even more is just how much it is packing in early. Sepak U promises 21 characters, 21 arenas, over 10 hours of solo and co-op content, minigames, boss fights, and character-filled chaos, including playful names and concepts like Kapitan Pepe and even “Your Mom?!” on its roster description. Its arenas and lore are also inspired by the Philippines, Southeast Asia, and other regions, which makes the game feel like another fun sign of Filipino developers turning familiar cultural roots into original game ideas.

Since Sepak U is still an upcoming game and not yet available on Steam, interested players can already keep an eye on it by adding it to their wishlist. You can check the Steam page here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4566850/Sepak_U__Sports_Fighting_Game/
