Good news for GOMO users! GOMO, one of the first networks in the Philippines to offer no-expiry data that theoretically unlimited gaming sessions, now supports eSIM. This is a great update for users with eSIM-compatible phones, as it eliminates the need for physical SIM cards when connecting to the network.
If you’re interested in making the switch, follow the steps outlined below.
Important Notes
- Physical SIM Deactivation: After converting to an eSIM, your physical SIM card will be automatically disabled once the eSIM purchase is complete.
- Replacement Fee: The eSIM upgrade costs approximately PHP 199.
- Device Compatibility: Ensure your phone supports eSIM and is ready for configuration. To check if your Phone is compatible, dial *#06# and it will display your Device Information, make sure to have EID with the 32-digit number. If there is no EID, your phone is not eSIM compatible.
- Stable Internet Connection: A reliable internet connection is necessary throughout the process.
How to Convert to eSim
To get started, open your GOMO app and navigate to Account > SIM Management > SIM Replacement Request. From the list of five available options, select “I want to upgrade my physical SIM to an eSIM.” Carefully review the details and terms, then click “Upgrade to eSIM.”
Next, you’ll receive an OTP (One-Time Password) on your GOMO number. Enter the OTP to verify your request. Before proceeding with payment, you will be asked how you want to set up your eSIM. You can choose to set it up directly on your current device or via a QR Code. We recommend selecting the QR Code option for troubleshooting flexibility. However, if you only have one device, you can proceed with direct device activation — just exercise caution to avoid potential issues.
The eSIM upgrade costs approximately PHP 199, and you can complete the purchase using Gcash, GrabPay, Maya, or a Credit/Debit Card.
Finally, if you selected the QR Code option, scan it with your eSIM-compatible phone. For direct activation, your eSIM should activate automatically. Once the setup is complete, your physical SIM will be deactivated, and your eSIM will be ready to use. Enjoy seamless connectivity with GOMO!
