Demon Slayer fans have reason to celebrate! Aniplex has officially announced Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2, and this highly-anticipated sequel promises a major highlight: all nine Hashira will be fully playable.
The second chapter of The Hinokami Chronicles will continue Tanjiro’s journey, covering key arcs from the anime, including:
- Entertainment District Arc
- Swordsmith Village Arc
- Hashira Training Arc
This means players will face off against formidable Upper Rank demons, relive epic battles, and experience the intense training sequences that showcase the skills and abilities of the Hashira.
Expanded Roster and Gameplay Modes
The new VS Mode will allow players to select a range of new characters, including fan-favorite Hashira like Muichiro Tokito (Mist Hashira) and Mitsuri Kanroji (Love Hashira). These characters join the already expansive roster from the original game, along with the demons introduced via free updates and the Entertainment District DLC.

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is set to release in 2025 on PlayStation 5 (PS5), PlayStation 4 (PS4), Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Steam (PC). Fans can get an early taste of the game at Jump Fest 2024 (December 21–22) in Japan.
