How to fix RGB not working on ZOTAC GTX 1080 TI Amp Extreme Edition

If one day you noticed that your graphics card ZOTAC GTX 1080 Ti Amp Extreme Edition (Other GTX 10 Series) suddenly the RGB light and fan stops working. Usually, it happens because you hadn’t turned on the graphics card for a long time or either because you had taken apart the card and disconnected the RGB lighting from the board. However, before we proceed on the solution. If you’ve recently disassembled the card, it’s possible that the RGB lightning could have become disconnected from the board. What is the cause of the RGB malfunction?

According to a user on NVIDA forum named NeonDale that the problem is something to do with the firmware of the graphics card and those experiencing the issue also shows problem with ZOTAC’s utility tool Firestorm where the SPECTRA menu option is greyed out from the menu that is intended for controlling the RGB lighting.

Fortunately, NeonDale has contacted ZOTAC regarding the issue and he received a quick solution to its firmware malfunction, a patched program to fix it.

How to Fix the RGB lighting

First, you need to make sure that there is only 1 graphics card attached to your motherboard and that is the ZOTAC video card.

Then, boot up your computer and download the patched file provided by ZOTAC. You can download it at https://www.daleschroeder.com/public/Zotac_Spectra_Lighting_Fix.zip

Now, open up the Zotac Spectra Lighting Fix. Then there should be a single button, click the FIX Button.

Your graphics card should now be functioning properly with the RGB lighting fully operational once again. This fix will also work for the graphics card that their Fan is not working or turned off during idle.
