In Final Fantasy XV (FFXV), when you reach the Lestallum’s Market, a new side-quest is available that you can take from talking to the Proprietor’s Grandson.
The pre-requisite mission that you need to complete first before taking this side-quest is the Burden of Expectation (Main Quest) and the A Stroll for Two (Side-Quest).
Once you already have that two pre-requisite mission, you’re free to take this side-quest anytime you want. This quest is much similar from the A Professor’s Protege and the Frogs of Legends, instead of finding a frogs, you need to find an old trap somewhere in the map.
Activating the Map Guide for the Old Traps
After taking the quest from the merchant and Proprietor’s grandson. You need to travel to Taelpar Rest Area, once you reach the area – you need to find some hunters near the logs just beside the parking lot.
When you talk to these hunters, they’ll give you some clues that there are some old traps that prevent them from entering the area to deliver the merchandise to the vendor in Lestallum. This will activate the circle mark on your map.
How to Remove Old Traps
There are 5 old traps that you need to remove to complete the FFXV Mind the Trap Quest.
Ride a Chocobo to reach the circle mark location in your map. From here, what you only need to do is to search through the whole circle to find the 5 old traps.
The first old trap is in the grass near the paved road.
The second old trap is in the bush, near the edge of the circle.
The third old trap is near the tree at the center of the circle.
The fourth old trap is in the rocks at just the very edge of the circle.
The last old trap is in the bush and small dead trees in between the fourth, first and third trap.
Once you’ve got all of the 5 old traps, go back to the hunter so he can send you back to the Lestallum.
Finishing the Quest
After teleporting back to Lestallum, talk again to Proprietor’s Grandson in the marketplace.
The side-quest will automatically be completed and you’ll receive a discount on all items sold by his store.
Rewards
The rewards for completing the Final Fantasy XV Mind The Trap side quest are the following:
- 1,500 EXP
- Discounts to the item sold by Proprietor in Lestallum
