Help! Battlefield 1 PC game screen not refreshing

hey guys and girls I have a problem with my game, as i launch from origin it will open up. However for the screen to refresh I have to "alt tab" (screen off and on) for it to refresh. I can hear as i mouse over the options but nothing is happening on screen. This problem started yesterday after I had not played the game in about 4 weeks time (was not an issue previously). I have run a repair and check for updates but everything seems to be okay. Has anyone had this problem (on PC)?

Edit: I have since upgraded my RAM from 8gb to 16gb in this space of time

repair your game then click on update

so I fix it by dropping down to 50Hz when in full screen, however when i alt tab it goes back to freezing again...
